Let me see Your face, set as a flint (Isa.50:7) Toward the work the Father had You do. Let me be like You, oh, Lord, Confident that Your undertaking I may accomplish too.
Let me see Your feet, which in a meek and lowly state This earth did trod. Let me be like You, oh, Lord, Striding humbly to the finish gate upon this earthen sod.
Let me see Your back, willingly handed over to the sinners Who would smite it (Isa.50:6). Let me be like You, oh, Lord, When buffeted falsely, only to abide it (I Pet.2:20).
Let me see Your heart, abounding in everlasting love Toward Your creatures. Let me be like You, oh, Lord, Loving eternal souls - not only momentary features.
Let me see Your hands, tenderly outstretched For me on Calvary. Let me be like You, oh, Lord, Taking up my cross to follow only Thee (Matt.10:38).
Let me see Your arm, extended out with strength That for the ruined it may save. Let me be like You, oh, Lord, Upholding weak and sick careening to the grave.
Let me see Your blood, poured out unto death To cleanse me from my sin. Let me be like You, oh, Lord, Giving up my life so that others I may win.
Let me see Your ears, ever heeding yearning pleas Of the lowly and the humble. Let me be like You, oh, Lord, Listening for cries in darkness of those who fall and stumble.
Let me see Your desire, in doing the will of the Father Your one delight (Ps.40:8). Let me be like You, oh, Lord, Considering His will a privilege and knowing it is right.
Let me see Your presence, showing forth victory, Which all desire to achieve. Let me be like You, oh, Lord, That as others look at me, they see You, and truly then believe.
Let me see Your mouth, shouting in victory, “It is finished!” And truly we are blest. Let me be like You, oh, Lord, And in believing it concluded, take my final rest.
Finished is the work that accomplished it all so that I may be like You, oh, Lord.
Let me be like You.
