Alone with God -- what a frightening thought -- If you have not asked Him to forgive! For He knows your each and ev'ry thought And how each day you live.
For you are His creation.
All you possess comes from Him.
Your health, your wealth, and talents, too --
He's blessed your life to the brim!
So to stand before Him, no other nearby, Accountable for yourself alone, Should cause you to ponder what your response will be When you appear before His throne.
If you have not acknowledged your sinful state And accepted His gift of love, You will not be worthy to enter His courts To live forever with Him above.
The greatest of sinners His kingdom can share If repentance is truthfully shown, For Christ, God's Son, has taken your place -- But you must take His gift for your own.
If "born again," God's judgment is past. You do not need to have fear. Your sins are forgiven -- we're heirs with Christ And we are His children dear.
But when alone you stand before God, What will your NEW LIFE reflect? Has your life manifested His peace and joy? Or willful years of neglect?
Rewarded we'll be if faithful to Him -- To lay up treasure in Heaven, we must! To stand empty-handed is to shun His grace And reveal our vain mistrust.
Alone before God? What will be your plea? We are there because Christ died. We'll not boast of what we have done But of the pow'r He has supplied.
