The Pasture

Verse of the Day

For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Lifelong trail of struggle Love commands me to obey To take my cross and bear it To reach those along the way Traveling beside this world Sometimes pulled by this parallel I must not become enveloped Yet not be standing still For I am not to be of it Yet to be here in its midst To touch, to guide the weary To build a bridge 'cross the abyss And leaning--sometimes falling From this divergent path I take The goal, these ends that differ Always there despite mistakes Two worlds that vie for me One I choose, is the harder to partake I'm reaching to bring others For eternal is the stake
