For Christ died and was surely dead And laid to grave in another's bed, Which He left as if it had never been slept in. He showed Himself to those who would see Because they understood the mystery, But He showed Himself to others so That they might say we have seen the Messiah this day. Some of those lived still a while And spread the word like an innocent child We would have to believe if we would see The Christ, the King no longer of Israel But of all the world and we would tell The tale of how we became the Christians Like the ones in Acts whose miracles are no less And now we too are blessed like Paul To deliver joy and spiritual ecstasy to all Who call upon the name of Jesus and turn Their hearts to Him for all eternity. This is just a poem of running words To share the hope of which I've heard and experienced, Since the time I found my knees upon the ground And my heart poured out like wasted wine To be filled again by Him who once made me. Don't you see it's not the words or sounds we make That give it truth but rather He who gave the words in truth And so I've heard His voice in my heart And I say for now I stay, But when I leave and go away I won't be far Nor shall I be gone so long that you won't remember me. He has gone to prepare a place for us To worship at His feet and become The stones of the temple that worships Him. Again I say, Amen.
