Nothing to Give
Father, I've nothing to give, but all of my emptiness, my sadness and weariness, my despair and loneliness.
Father, I've nothing to give, except my unworthiness, foul smelling self-righteousness, and a past of bitterness.
Father, I give You my pain, as I hand over my shame. I give you my life in vain, also my sullied-up name. My past and present are Yours, and the future's unseen doors. I ask forgiveness of sin, that Your Spirit would come in. Without You, I just can't win, will just be what I have been.
Father, I've nothing to give- nothing that would make one rich. These pitiful things I have should be tossed into a ditch. What...You say that You'll take them- well, I ask You, what's the hitch? Hmmm...Eternal life You'll give me, if I just give these a pitch?
