The Pasture

Verse of the Day

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.

Strange Women*

A young man walked a narrow route to meet his Newlywed and came upon a lavished house with curtains scarlet red.

A mistress bared alluring frame while slinking out the door. Her eyelids flapped like crackling flames as she sang siren scores.

"Relax and lie down next to me upon my perfumed bed. No one will learn our ecstasy." But he just grinned and said,

"Do not contend with pastured hills where sheep forever feed. Beloved Wisdom keeps me filled with all the love I need."

The woman's fingers flaunted rings with gold and ruby charms. She beckoned, "We can share these things if you rest in my arms."

"Your gold," he told, "will melt with heat. Your rubies break as glass. What treasure can you give to me that Wisdom can not pass?"

She slightly coiled aback with doubt but kept her rage concealed, for she despised this loving Spouse he calls his Strength and Shield.

She slowly purred, "I'm so alone with all these sacred thoughts. Does Wisdom sit upon the throne, or has it come to naught?

"I see no problem just to kiss and whisper foreign tales. My stolen waters sweeten lips and make great men prevail!"

He answered, "Wisdom will remain the Way, the Truth, the Life. Yeshua's name will always reign!" And so, he left this site.

She cursed his firm apology and slammed her heavy door. She gnashed her teeth and stomped her feet, travailing angry roars.

She stormed upstairs and rent her sheets where she spins satin webs, intoxicating those who greet and carry her to bed.

When ravished in this harlot's snare, they see an empty cell: a holding place besides the stairs which plummet down to hell.
